The English and Communication Department at Nazareth College seeks applications for a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor or Non-Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Professional Practice to teach courses in our communication and media major. Our areas of specialization include digital media, public relations, and journalism. We are interested in candidates who are qualified to teach some combination of the following courses: Introduction to Mass Communication, Writing for Digital Media, Social Media, Digital Storytelling, Public Relations Writing, Principles of Public Relations, Introduction to Journalism, Feature Writing, and Editing for Publication.
The selected individual will be required to teach four undergraduate courses each semester, assist in identifying and cultivating internship sites, engage in scholarly or professional activity (depending on appointment type), participate in academic advisement, and contribute to departmental and college service. We are especially interested in candidates who have demonstrated understanding and active commitment to addressing diversity and inclusion in their teaching, service, professional activity, and/or scholarship.

If seeking appointment as Tenure-Track Assistant Professor, a PhD in communication or a related field will be required. ABD candidates who will complete their PhD by August 2020 will be considered.
If seeking appointment as an Assistant Professor in Professional Practice, the applicant must have a minimum of five years of professional experience in public relations, journalism, and/or digital media. A masters degree in communication or a related discipline is required.
