At last night's 20MAAB, we added a new component that was brought forth by RIT student, Rebecca Wolinski.
Rebecca reached out to the RAF a few weeks ago because she noticed that students were leaving after the presentation and missing out on the networking aspect of 20MAAB, mostly because - based on her experience - students didn't know who to talk to or how to introduce themselves to the professionals in the room.
Rebecca also proposed a solution, which came to life last night when almost a dozen professionals hung around after the presentation to talk with students about what they do, their experience, their favorite project, etc.
In Rebecca's words: "By having students connect with professionals in the room, it helps to integrate us, so that the next month we have faces we recognize and are not so intimidated. I believe this would both help students to network with the local creative community, and also help professionals to get to know the upcoming talent that may be staying in the area."
Thanks Rebecca for helping us add an exciting new element to 20MAAB, one that benefits students, professionals and the greater creative community. And thanks to all the professionals, many of them RAF members, who helped us make the first time a big success!
